Bibitakin Kanoan Boon

This Kiribati phrase for climate change, when translated, is “change in weather over many days”. Kiribati is a central Pacific country comprised of 33 low lying coral islands whose expanse is larger than India. The nation is under attack from rising sea waters due to the melting of earth’s snow and ice from human caused climate change. Fresh water wells are turning brackish and crops are dying due to the incursion of salt water from the rising ocean. The injustice to these and other Pacific islands is just a singular instance of issues arising from climate change.
